The West Geauga Girls Soccer team scored a season-high nine goals in 9-4 win over Chardon on the road Thursday evening. Chardon scored a goal 25 seconds into the contest to take an early 1-0 lead before Faelynn Beckrest answered with a score on an assist from Ava Borz to even the match. The Hilltoppers took the lead back in the 14th minute before the Wolverines closed the half with goals from Brooklyn Osolin, Beckrest and Clara Horrigan to take a 4-2 lead at the break. Chardon pulled within a goal in the early minutes of the second half before Jade Alvord connected with Osolin for her second score of the game. Beckrest added her third score on a pass from Molly McNamara to extend the West Geauga lead to 6-3. Amelia Zaffiro added a goal on pass from Osolin and Ava Borz scored an unassisted goal to make it 8-4. Beckrest added her career-best fourth goal of the night on a pass from Cara Borz for the final score of the match. Morgan Damask made five saves in the win for the Wolverines. West Geauga improves to 8-1-1 on the season and will host Geneva on Saturday.
