Baseball Rallies To Beat Edgewood 9-3

The West Geauga baseball team picked up its 15th win of the season on Monday afternoon with a 9-3 come from behind win over visiting Edgewood. The Wolverines took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning after Austin Kanieski grounded into a fielder's choice to score Jackson Remaley. Edgewood responded with two runs in the top of the fifth to take a 2-1 lead. West Geauga responded in the home half of the fifth inning after Nick Colella led off with a double and Mitchell Mikolay homered over the left field fence to make it 3-2. The Warriors answered right back with a solo shot in the sixth to tie game 3-3. In the sixth inning, Colton Milnar picked up a pinch hit double to score Luke Ottman and put West G back in front 4-3. Later in the inning, Bryce Vidovic launched a grand slam over the left field fence to extend the lead to 8-3. Vidovic finished the afternoon 3-for-4 with four runs driven in and Colella went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Evan Sustin also added a pair of hits for West G. Ottman picked up the win with a 1 2/3 of scoreless relief while striking out two.
