The West Geauga baseball team picked up an 4-3 extra inning win over Shaker Heights in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon. Both teams were held scoreless through the first four innings before the Wolverines plated single runs in the fifth and sixth inning to take a 2-0 lead. Shaker responded with three runs in top of the seventh to lead reclaim the lead at 3-2. In the bottom of the seventh, Colton Milnar homered over the center field fence to tie the game 3-3 and force extra innings. With a runner at third base in the ninth inning, Austin Kanieski executed a safety squeeze to plate the winning run for the Wolverines. Bryce Vidovic struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings of work while allowing two runs on two hits. Luke Ottman picked up the win in relief. West Geauga will travel to Perry on Monday to start a pivotal CVC series with the Pirates.
