Softball Pitches Shutout Over 10th Ranked Streetsboro

The West Geauga Softball team picked up an early season signature win on the road over Streetsboro on Friday afternoon. The two teams sit amongst the top 10 in Division 4 in the latest OHSAA/Max Preps RPI rankings. The Wolverines jumped out to a quick start by scoring two runs in the second inning and adding three more in the third to take a 5-0 lead. West Geauga tacked on single runs in each of the next two innings to make it 7-0. Dayana Malone collected three hits in four at-bats and Peyton Gambatese drove in a run. Lely Percassi tossed a complete game shutout while allowing four hits and striking out six and only walking one.
